Atlantis is extraordinary. It is also enormous.
Atlantis combines Aquaventure, five hotel areas, beaches, pools, one of the world’s largest open-air marine habitats, a casino, Marina Village and a major dining collection. It can be a complete vacation or one ambitious day. The winning strategy is to decide which one before buying anything.

Buy a day pass
Non-guests need a dated, limited-availability pass for Aquaventure, the marine habitat, resort pools and designated beaches. Prices vary by date; advance purchase is the safer approach.
Stay nearby
Some neighboring packages may include Atlantis access under current agreements. Read the exact room, wristband, blackout and guest-count terms before assuming a lower room rate includes every traveler.
Day-pass rule: Atlantis currently states that passes are refundable up to four days before arrival and non-refundable within three days. Policies can change, so read the terms attached to the date you actually buy.
Choose your hotel
Location changes the entire stay.
All Atlantis hotels are not interchangeable. The Royal and Coral sit closer to the busiest attractions; The Cove and Reef trade convenience for quieter beaches and a more residential atmosphere. Harborside creates space on the marina side.

The Coral
Families and first-time visitors
Near Marina Village, the Coral Pool and family entertainment. It is usually one of the more attainable ways to include full Aquaventure access while staying within the resort.
Tradeoff: A longer walk to some signature slides and the quieter western beaches.

The Royal
Short stays and water-park priority
The iconic towers place guests near The Dig, casino and the heart of Aquaventure. Choose it when minimizing internal travel matters more than escaping the action.
Tradeoff: Busy public areas and a high-energy atmosphere throughout much of the day.

The Reef
Families and multigenerational groups
Studios and larger residences add kitchen facilities, living space and access to the quieter western side near Paradise Beach. The home-like setup can materially reduce breakfast and snack costs.

The Cove
Couples and luxury-focused adults
A more refined tower beside Cove and Paradise beaches, with an adults-only pool reserved for adult Cove guests and access to the quieter western resort grounds.

Villa-style units near the marina add kitchens, washers and separate living areas while retaining access to Aquaventure through the resort system.

Ride restrictions
Height, weight, swim ability, medical and life-jacket rules vary by attraction and can change. Check the official sign and lifeguard instruction at every ride. A 48-inch requirement applies to several major slides, not automatically to the entire park.
The Current uses waves, rapids and conveyor lifts to carry riders around a large circuit. Secure sunglasses, follow life-jacket rules and expect repeat requests from children.

Do not sprint past the animals on the way to a slide.
Atlantis describes its open-air marine habitat as home to more than 250 species. Lagoons and exhibits include sharks, rays, sea turtles, reef fish, barracuda and other marine life. The Dig and Predator Tunnel are the best-known indoor-style viewing spaces, but much of the habitat threads through the resort outdoors.

A theatrical aquarium journey through ruins-inspired rooms. Visit late morning, during peak slide queues or after dinner when access and hours allow.

Predator Tunnel, Stingray Lagoon, shark habitats and open-air viewing paths make this more than a single aquarium building.

Dolphin Cay experiences
Dolphin, sea-lion and other interactive programs cost extra and require advance reservations. Review age, swim and weather rules carefully.
Animal-welfare note: Atlantis presents conservation, rehabilitation and education programs alongside guest experiences. Travelers should read the current program details and decide which interactions fit their own wildlife ethics; viewing habitats is included without purchasing direct-contact encounters.
The marine program spans open-air lagoons, aquarium passages and separately priced encounters. Treat scheduled interactions as optional.

The calmest parts of Atlantis are worth protecting.
Cove Beach
A protected cove on the quieter western side. Access rules can distinguish Cove and Reef guests from general resort visitors.
Paradise Beach
A broad ocean beach near The Reef and Cove. It feels removed from the Mayan Temple but remains part of the resort complex.
Atlantis Beach
The Atlantic-facing stretch nearer The Coral and Royal. Conditions can be rougher than the lagoon, especially with winter swell.
Paradise Lagoon
A protected saltwater lagoon with gentler swimming and watersports in current operating areas.
Adults-only calm
The Cove’s adult pool is reserved for adult Cove guests under current policy; a day pass does not unlock every private hotel zone.
Cabanas
Useful for shade, a home base and larger groups, but priced separately. Location matters more than décor—choose near the day’s priority zone.
Protected water, palms and a quieter patch of sand are the reset button between the park’s most energetic attractions.

Atlantis is not all-inclusive.
Standard room reservations do not include meals. Atlantis has fine dining, buffets, casual restaurants, Marina Village venues, bars and quick-service counters, but taxes and automatic service charges can materially raise the menu total.
Breakfast strategy
A Reef or Harborside kitchen, grocery stop or simple in-room breakfast saves time and money before park opening.
Park lunch
Eat slightly before or after the noon rush. Confirm which counters are open; not every venue operates every day.
Signature dinner
Restaurants such as Fish, Nobu and Café Martinique merit reservations. Review dress code, cancellation policy and final pricing.
Marina Village
A walkable collection of restaurants and shops with a more open village atmosphere after the water park closes.
Meal plans
Availability and inclusions change. Compare the plan’s full cost, eligible restaurants, children’s pricing, taxes and gratuities against actual eating habits.
Grocery reality
Stocking water, breakfast and snacks is most useful in kitchen-equipped units. Resort rules govern outside food, coolers and park entry.
Budget rule: price room, resort fee, taxes, transport, meals, day passes or included access, lockers, cabana, paid animal encounters and gratuities together. Atlantis is very good at turning “optional” into a persuasive aquatic argument.

Getting there & practical details
Small island, large resort, real walking.
From NAS airport
Atlantis is roughly 15 kilometers from the airport; normal taxi or transfer time is about 25–35 minutes, depending on traffic.
From downtown Nassau
Taxi across the bridge or use the daylight water taxi, then walk from the Paradise Island landing. Do not rely on the last water taxi for a flight.
What to wear
Secure swimwear, high-SPF reef-conscious sunscreen, a hat and water shoes suitable for hot pavement. Loose jewelry and slides have poor career prospects.
Lockers & valuables
Use the current locker system for phones, wallets and travel documents. Do not leave valuables unattended on chairs or beaches.
Children
Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult under current day-pass rules. Establish a physical meeting point.
Accessibility
Ask Atlantis directly about mobility routes, pool lifts, attraction transfer requirements and accessible transport before purchase; slide access varies.
Weather
Slides, beaches and programs may pause for lightning, wind or maintenance. Hours are daylight- and season-dependent.
Health
Hydrate, schedule shade and take motion or medical restrictions seriously. Pregnant guests and travelers with heart, neck or back concerns should review ride warnings.
Before you buy
Check the exact date’s park hours, ride closures, pass inventory, refund terms and access restrictions. Atlantis updates its attractions and operating schedule; a travel guide can organize the decision, but only the resort controls the wristband.

Choose Atlantis when…
You want one of the Caribbean’s most complete family resorts, multiple days of water-based activity, strong dining choice and enough infrastructure for travelers with very different interests. It is especially good for multigenerational groups and children who would happily repeat The Current until adulthood.
Choose another base when…
Your ideal Bahamas trip is quiet, intimate, locally immersive and centered on uncrowded beaches or sailing. Stay downtown, west New Providence or on an Out Island, then visit Atlantis for a day if curiosity remains.
